I write the playbook – Design systems for physical AI

Hey Jua team – I'm Matze, a product designer who thrives where there's no path yet.

When PXL Vision needed their first UX lead for AI-driven identity verification, I didn't wait for a playbook—I wrote it. As solo designer in an ETH spin-off, I owned the full design lifecycle: from research through system architecture to measurable impact. 72% faster task completion, 55% fewer drop-offs, white-label themes for 7+ partners.

I've spent 7+ years building complex B2B products (banking, identity verification, trading platforms) where precision and expert workflows matter.

First design hire? That's where I do my best work.

What draws me to Jua is to do what I do best, this time for physical AI and time-critical workflows where experts need tools they can trust without having to think.

    Selected Projects

From AI verification to design systems—complexity made simple

These cases show how I approach first-hire scenarios: building from scratch, designing for experts, and delivering measurable outcomes in technical B2B environments.

    How I Work

I design like a first hire should—end to end, evidence first

From research to rollout, I own the full design lifecycle and make decisions that stick.

    • Research-driven: User interviews, usability tests, and analytics (behavior tracking, A/B testing) shape every decision—I don't design in a vacuum.
    • System thinker: I build modular, scalable design systems that serve multiple products and teams, not just one-off screens.
    • Cross-functional: I partner daily with engineers, researchers, and stakeholders—design happens in the space between disciplines.
    • Outcome-focused: Metrics aren't vanity—they're accountability. I track task completion, drop-offs, and iteration costs to prove impact.

I bring the toolkit Jua needs: Figma advanced, ProtoPie, user research, AI-assisted design, and a bias for iteration over perfection.

    What I Bring

7+ years solving the hardest B2B design problems—solo and at scale

I've been the first (and only) designer before. I know how to build design infrastructure from zero.

PXL Vision (ETH Spin-off, 2019–2021): Solo UX lead for AI-driven identity verification. Built design system for 7 white-label partners, reduced task duration by 72%, decreased drop-offs by 55%. Collaborated across time zones with CPO and dev teams in Serbia.

LUKB (Banking, 2022–2023): Implemented cross-application design system, ran Figma workshops for team enablement, reduced iteration costs by 70% through systematic validation.

Knowledge Lab (AI/ML, 2023): UX research for LLM Compliance Banklet—explored AI-assisted banking interfaces and compliance-aware interaction patterns.

At Jua, I'll define the design approach from the ground up—research, analytics, iteration, and systems that scale with your ambitions.

    What You Get

A designer who defines the path, not just follows it

First hires don't wait for process—they create it.

    • Speed without shortcuts: I prototype, test, and iterate fast—but every decision is evidence-based, not guesswork.
    • Design infrastructure: You'll get a design system, research practice, and analytics setup (PostHog or equivalent) that scales as Jua grows.
    • Cross-functional fluency: I speak engineer, researcher, and stakeholder—I bridge gaps, don't create silos.
    • Proven in early-stage: I've built design practices from scratch in startups (PXL Vision) and scaled them in enterprises (LUKB)—I know when to move fast and when to build for the long term.

    Why Jua Excites Me

Physical AI for experts who need precision—this is where design matters most

I'm drawn to products where the stakes are high and the users are smart.

Weather forecasting for energy and robotics isn't consumer fluff; it's mission-critical infrastructure for the next shift. Expert workflows demand clarity, not decoration. That's the design I love: complex systems made intuitive, data-rich interfaces that experts trust, and products where a 30-second decision can have real-world impact.

I thrive in early-stage environments where agility, service, and data supremacy aren't buzzwords—they're how we work. At PXL Vision, I learned to move at the highest clock speed while keeping quality non-negotiable. At Jua, I'm ready to do it again.

    If You Believe This Too

    Clear. Effective. Human.

Design is only as good as the problem it solves. I keep it simple, measure what matters, and put people first—even when those people are experts.

At Jua, that means designing for time-critical decisions, complex data, and workflows where clarity is a competitive advantage.

    Thanks for Reading
